Residential Communities for Children and Adolescents / Here, children and adolescents facing psychological challenges—who are unable to live with their families or on their own—find a home.
In our two residential communities for children and adolescents—located in Vienna’s 1120 and 1140 districts—we provide care for a total of eight young people aged 12 to 18. This care is provided within the framework of "Full Care" (Vollziehung), following a referral from the Vienna Child and Youth Welfare Services. Admission criteria include, among other factors, an age range of 12 to 18 (or, in exceptional cases, from age 10), the presence of psychological distress, prior experience with child and adolescent psychiatry, and challenging behaviors that necessitate intensive supervision.
We work closely with the residents' key caregivers, child and adolescent psychiatric services, medical professionals, therapists, the Child and Youth Welfare Services, and the residents' family systems. We assist the adolescents in structuring their daily routines and provide supplementary recreational and educational activities. Vacations and trips can be planned and carried out in various formats: as group trips, in smaller constellations, or as individual outings.
The residential communities are housed in a dedicated, standalone building. The children and adolescents each have their own private bedrooms, while the facility also features communal living areas and a private garden. The young residents are supported by a multidisciplinary team. Through the application of various approaches, our aim is to foster the deepest possible understanding of our residents' individual needs. Each resident is assigned an external individual support worker who focuses exclusively on accompanying and supporting that specific resident. Our goal is to enable these young residents to develop a sense of trust and security within a protected environment characterized by stable relationships.
