In accordance with funding guidelines, it is possible—to a limited extent—to employ support staff within our care teams who are currently undergoing training in the psychosocial field or who hold qualifications in unrelated disciplines. Such decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, depending on the specific composition of the team and the qualifications already present within it. Working Time Model: Personal Care and Daily SupportCare services are provided Monday through Friday. In principle, it is possible to independently schedule your working hours in consultation with the clients (within the framework of our flextime agreement).Since care is provided on a mobile basis, travel times within Vienna must also be factored into the planning and organization of your schedule. This role requires a certain degree of flexibility and organizational skills, as appointments with clients may be cancelled or rescheduled on short notice, or sudden, acute urgent situations may arise.Working Time Model: Employment ProjectsWork takes place Monday through Friday; a Saturday shift occurs—at most—once a month, and only at the *LOKal* location.Working hours are determined by a duty roster, which is published at least one month prior to its effective date. Whenever possible, the preferences of the support staff are taken into account when creating the roster. Currently, there is an option for half-day shifts (5 hours, either mornings or afternoons) or full-day shifts (approximately 9 hours).Working Time Model: Shared Living Communities and Studio Apartment ClustersThese facilities are staffed around the clock, including night shifts and weekend shifts. Duty rosters are finalized at least one month in advance and are created through a collaborative coordination process designed to ensure a healthy work-life balance. Individual employee needs are accommodated whenever possible. Depending on the specific facility, shifts vary in length—typically running from the morning until late afternoon, and in some cases, extending into the evening.Weekend shifts are regulated by the collective bargaining agreement. The duty roster must be structured to ensure that, for every three-month period (quarter), employees have at least half of the weekends completely off.During the day, depending on the size of the facility and the number of residents, two to three staff members are on duty simultaneously (sometimes supported additionally by interns and alternative civilian service personnel). Night shifts (fully paid, with sleeping facilities available in the duty room) are performed solo.Working Time Model: Small-Scale ProjectsThese facilities are staffed around the clock and involve both night and weekend shifts. Duty rosters are finalized at least one month in advance and are created through a collaborative planning process designed to ensure a healthy work-life balance. Individual employee needs are accommodated whenever possible.Weekend shifts are regulated by the collective bargaining agreement. The duty roster must be structured so that, in every quarter, at least half of the weekends are completely free.Exact shift times vary from facility to facility, depending on what is deemed most appropriate for the provision of care. The shortest day shifts last 6 hours, while the longest last 9 hours. Night shifts last approximately 15 hours and constitute continuous working time—even though, in principle, employees have the option to withdraw to a private area and lie down to rest.Working Time Model: Children’s and Youth Residential CommunitiesThese facilities are staffed around the clock and involve both night and weekend shifts. The duty roster is published at least one month prior to its effective date. Here, too, employees have the opportunity to help shape the schedule; for instance, they may request up to four specific days off per cycle, which are accommodated whenever possible. Shift durations vary depending on the assigned duty. Shifts are categorized as early shifts, day shifts, or night shifts. Early and day shifts range from 7 to 10 hours in duration. Night shifts last approximately 14 hours and constitute continuous working time—even though, in principle, employees have the option to withdraw to a private area and lie down to rest. Additionally, a night-shift allowance is paid for night shifts in accordance with the SWÖ collective bargaining agreement.Shift handovers take place between shifts.Weekend shifts are regulated by the collective bargaining agreement. The duty roster must be designed such that, per quarter, at least half of the weekends are entirely free.
The salary structure is governed by the SWÖ Collective Agreement. As a general rule, we remunerate employees in accordance with the Collective Agreement under Usage Group 6. However, in cases where an employee holds a relevant, completed professional qualification, we voluntarily pay above the standard rate.In addition, various variable allowances (e.g., for public holidays) apply.
