People who often know little about each other meet. The festival offers the opportunity to learn more about one another. Often, no conversation is even necessary. Seeing each other, dancing together, laughing together – spontaneous and emotional interaction is allowed and encouraged at the celebration. Every 5-10 years, there are special annual celebrations marking the founding of the LOK association, its residential communities, and employment projects.

 

 

The LOK Ball has been a major event for years, celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2020. Not only clients of the LOK association, but also clients of all support organizations in Vienna are invited to this grand celebration. Even those not receiving support services attend this successful party, which attracts up to 800 people . Since its inception, companies and individuals have financially supported the ball, making it possible. Guests are consistently delighted by the fantastic musical program.

The Psyennale was first held in 2009, the 20th anniversary of the association, at the suggestion of clients. The film week was organized jointly by clients and staff in cooperation with the Top Kino cinema. The selection of films aimed to present a diverse picture of people in various states of mental distress. It addressed coping with everyday life, conflicts with their environment, and the questions: What is healthy? What is illness? The goal was to offer a different perspective on the topic of "mental illness" and thus contribute to destigmatization. The film week was repeated in 2012, 2015, and 2017, with 2017 being the last time to date.
